Thanks to my co-worker and friend, Veronica, this teachable moment will definitely be used this week. We use the Houghton Mifflin series for our reading textbook and last week we read "The Sleeping Pig" where a cricket is the hero in the story. Veronica shared with me today how she is going to read "Horton Hears A Who" tomorrow and compare/contrast with "The Sleeping Pig" (cricket vs. Who). The famous line "A person's a person, no matter how small" will be her premise for the lesson. I am so grateful for the idea and I know she would want to share it with all of you.
