I Was Tagged and Had a Delayed Reaction!

Breaking the rules, that's me!  I can live with it, here's hoping you can too.  Rule breaker #1, blogging more than once a day.  Sometimes you just have to do it, today is that day.  Rule breaker #2, I was tagged on APRIL 8TH and never tagged anyone or answered the questions posted by my tagger:

Michelle over at Apples and ABC's:  Adventures in Kindergarten.
She has a sweet smile in her picture so I am hoping she has forgiven me!

Here are the rules:

  • Post these rules
  • Answer the 10 questions that the tagger posted for you
  • Create 10 questions of your own to ask the people that you're about to tag
  • Tag 10 people and link them with your post (and let them know they've been tagged)

Here are Michelle's questions for me:

1. If you could teach any other grade, what would it be?
I always say 6th grade when I am asked this question, but I would probably die if my principal switched me to anything higher than 4th!
2. What is your favorite beverage?
Milk, yes milk.  The colder, the better.
3.  What is your favorite store to shop for goodies for your classroom?
I love the Target Dollar Spot for things for my students, but I am an office supply junkie, so any store that has office supplies on sale is the store for me.
4. What inspired you to start blogging?
Last January 1st, I happened to be searching for something and came across a blog (prior to that I never even knew what a blog was).  I started my mommy blog, pinksmyink.blogspot.com that very same day to start recording the months prior to my oldest daughter moving on to college.  In March, I started my teaching blog faithfulinfirst.blogspot.com and loved connecting with all of the amazing teachers from around the world.  I am still a toddler when it comes to blogging, but I am learning new things everyday.
5.  What is your favorite unit/lesson that you have blogged (add link)?
This would be the toddler stage of blogging for me.  I haven't jumped into the deep end with units, but I have made mini focus walls for use with the Houghton Mifflin Reading Series for first grade.  They have been a big hit on my blog and over at TpT.  They are not available right now, since I have to fix all of them due to some clip art debacle with DJ Inkers, but they will be up over the summer (all 10 themes).  So make sure you continue following, especially those of you who email me, I promise they will be up.
6.  Would you rather teach at a year-round school, or traditional school (what is that called??)?
I have never thought about this, but for now I would say a traditional school (summer vacations are important to us).  With one daughter still in HS, we need to be on the same schedule.  I guess once she leaves for college, it wouldn't matter.

7.  Are you reading The Hunger Games?
I read all 3 books over winter break and loved them.  My college girl read them too, so we would talk each night about them.  I just finished reading that very adult trilogy, which my college girl is also reading right now.  We won't be discussing those.
8.  If you could travel anywhere, were would you go?
Tuscany, so I could drink wine and eat cheese all day.
9.  What is your favorite jungle animal?
I love be a big ole gorilla, I don't know why.  I think the newest edition of Planet of the Apes and the star Caesar, is what made me fall in love with gorillas.  I cried a lot during that movie, go figure!
10.  Who is your favorite children's author?
Patricia Polacco, she has something for everyone.

Ok, I have to tag 10 people, but I think everyone has already completed this task, so this would be rule breaker #3.  If you would like to answer some questions, here they are.  I tag anyone who wants to play along!

1.  What is your favorite subject to teach and why?
2.  If you had to describe yourself using a color, what color would you be and why?
3.  You are on a deserted island, what is the one thing you can't live without?
4.  Reality TV, good or bad?
5.  Books, the real thing or e-reader?

Rule breaker #4, only 5 questions, not 10!  Thanks for following!
