We did it! This Saturday Elizabeth from First Grade Stripes, Christy from Your Thrifty Co-Teacher and I hosted the very FIRST South Florida Blogger Meet-Up! What started off as a mere thought online in our Florida Teacher's Facebook Group became a reality where I honestly met the most genuine, down to Earth, creative and intelligent women. Most of us only knew each other through social media outlets such as Teachers Pay Teachers, Facebook, and Instagram, so it was such a blessing to get to know some of our blogger friends in person!
We met up at a local restaurant where we shared stories about our families, where we work, our journey as Teacher Pay Teacher authors, our blogging dreams, and so much more. Some of the wonderful teachers who made it to our get together are pictured below.
One of the teachers that I was so happy to meet was Bridget (second from the left) from Little Lovely Leaders who is a fifth grade teacher and Teachers Pay Teachers author. She came the farthest to meet up with us! She is the genius behind some amazing paper products and I can't wait to take a look at her planner in her TpT store. Her passion for organization is addicting! We know teachers LOVE to be organized. She was kind enough to give us all a desk planner, and not only is it so practical, but it is beautiful.
I also got to know Elizabeth, one of my co-hosts, and actually meet her in person, she is in the far right in the above picture. Her blog is First Grade Stripes. She kept me organized and on track while we were planning our fun day. We only spoke through email and texts, so I was so excited to finally meet her. It turns out that our schools are very close to each other and we know many of the same people!
This pretty lady is Christy from Your Thrifty Co-Teacher and my other co-host for the meetup. She is so much fun and has a flair of sophistication that I fell in love with. She also knows so much about creating products, so I can't wait to pick her brain! Her students must love her energy!
I was beyond thrilled to meet blogger and Teachers Pay Teachers author, Jennifer from Buzzin Bees of Learning (second from the right). I wish she had been my kindergarten teacher. It was such a pleasure to meet a teacher who shares the passion that we all have. Her smile is infectious!
We were lucky enough to meet teachers who have that creative flair and who now have been bitten by the blogging bug: Jessica, Iris, and Ali. Two previous co-workers who I had the pleasure of working with, Christena and Keila, also attended. Keila is friends with Elizabeth! They all shared some perfect ways to write grants so we can get the things we need for our classrooms. A few members of the group are heading to the Teachers Pay Teachers conference this summer and I am looking forward to hearing from them when they come back. Be on the lookout for their blogs in the future!
I can not forget to mention all our goodies. Thanks to the generosity of so many companies, we were able to give out a bag of wonderful goodies to each of the ladies who attended, and EVERYONE of us was able to walk away with a winning gift certificate to various TPT stores.
Speaking of goodies, make sure to come back and visit my blog next Sunday. I will be highlighting all of the companies that donated, along with their donations, and we will be GIVING AWAY three goodie bags to three wonderful followers. Christy, Elizabeth, and I will also be including a gift certificate to our stores, so mark your calendars, set your alarms. You won't want to miss it.
Here we are in all our silliness! |
