Summer Has Held Me Hostage and I'm Bloglovin It!!

I have been on break for 3 weeks and although I have something to show for it, not much of it has anything to do with school!

First and foremost, like many of my blogging besties, I have moved to Bloglovin.  I would love for all of my followers to click my button and follow me over at Bloglovin.  It is so sad that our followers don't transfer over, so I would be in tears if my over 600 faithful followers dwindled down to nothing (it took me FOREVER to get there).  So continue to be faithful and click away:

I have been busy working with CPALMS this summer.  If  you are a Florida teacher, please check out this wonderful resource.  It is made by teachers for teachers, with the help of a grant.  I work on reviewing submitted lesson plans, so they can become part of the database.  If you are looking for lessons tied to the CCSS, this is your one stop shop.  (Non-Florida teachers are welcome too!)

Other than my work with CPALMS, I am being held hostage by several things, none of which are school related.  The best part of this hostage situation is:

I have wanted to start watching Mad Men for years and now seemed like the perfect time.  I am hooked, completely and wholeheartedly.  Don Draper, as scandalous as he can be, is dreamy.  I watch with the eyes of a child, at times, remembering how my mom and dad smoked and drank just like the characters.  That was my life in the sixties, early seventies.  I didn't realize how much I loved that time until I watched the show.  New York was the hippest place to be and I am glad I got to be a part of it (even though I was born in 1968).  The makeup is great, it makes me want to get out my liquid eyeliner!

 If you haven't read any of her books, you should get on that ASAP.  I have read all of them and am in the midst of her newest.  I highly recommend these reads!  

So, that is it for now.  I promise to get back into the school swing in a few weeks, but for now I am living a selfish summer!  I would love to hear about any hostage situations going on during your summer, so let me know.
