Carson Dellosa and Common Core: A Match Made in Heaven (Giveaway in Post)

As teachers, we know that we have to use quality products to enhance our teaching.  Carson Dellosa knows this all too well and their line of Common Core aligned products are going to pick up where I leave off.  I was given several of their products to check out and I have to say, I can't wait till school starts.  Here is a glimpse at what I have been playing with the past week:

I teach gifted students in first grade, so I was given products for both first and second grade to try out.  The Thinking Mats are for 2nd grade math, Task Cards are for 1st grade math/ELA, and I was given a set of books for both grade levels.  The books are going to be used for my morning opener.  They are set up for each day of the week throughout the year, so everything is right where I need it.  I think I am going to have a journal just for this, so the kiddos stay organized.  All of these products up the ante by engaging students and giving them the chance to enlist their critical thinking skills (something the CCSS calls for).

These two pictures give you an idea of what the thinking mats look like.  These are perfect for partner work, center work, or "what to do when I'm done" work.  I am going to laminate the pieces that go with each mat and then these will be ready to go.  Each mat is aligned to a different strand, so all you need to do is pull out the one you need and set your kids a thinkin!

I think the task cards are my favorite because of their versatility.  Each card is aligned to a different strand and standard, so Carson Dellosa has done all the thinking for me.  The questions are clear cut and students will have to THINK, but they won't need my help, which gives them the confidence they need to continue.  I am going to include these in my centers and everyone is going to be jealous!  I am going to be the hit of my hallway with all of these goodies!  I am ready for the Common Core!!!

Here is a video to check out the thinking mats in action:

Now on to what's in it for you:  Carson Dellosa is giving away one of these products to one of my faithful followers.  So all you need to do is fill out the Rafflecopter and if you are the lucky winner, you get to choose which product you want for your classroom.

Heaven is a click away, thanks to Carson Dellosa (and me, lol).
