Books, Books, and More Books or My Name is Janine and I am a Hoarder

I am on spring break this week and for the most part, I have been one lazy daisy!  By lazy, I mean watched both seasons of Downton Abbey and eaten more chocolate than I ever thought I could!  I suppose I will start exercising and dieting on Monday, HA.

Well, yesterday I was tired of being lazy, so I started cleaning out an old TV stand that was filled with books and magazines.  I think I am a hoarder.  There, I've said it.  Now on to the proof (take a stroll through my madness):

These are the books that were in the cabinet.

I can't wait to bring this set to my classroom!

Barbara Rottner visited my old school when my girls were in elementary school.
She autographed these books for them.

Remnants of my childhood.

Memories of when my girls LOVED all things American Girl!

Jackpot!  These have CD's!!!!

One of my all time favorites!

Somehow I thought keeping these would be worth something.
Rosie only had her magazine for one year and I have every single issue.
No such luck, I found one on eBay for $2.29.
Not enough to pay off my student loans!!!

So there you have it, my not so lazy day turned into finding some treasures.  The problem is... I have 8 more HUGE Rubbermaid containers filled with books, books, and more books.  I have to buy books, all of the time.  I could teach every grade level and the students would never read the same book twice.  It is a sickness, but I am happy to be inflicted with the reading bug.

How many books do you have in hiding?

  1. The first part of recovery is acknowledging you have a problem. Check. Funny stuff. I have the same issue. By the way, "Bootsie Barker Bites" is a book I read every year to my students. Good stuff!

  2. If my husband knew how much I've spent on books since I started teaching, he would revoke my debit and credit cards!!
